The same cell, five very different duties

An 18650 in a medical cart and an 18650 in an impact driver are not the same product. What changes is the grade — capacity-first or current-first — and the protection strategy wrapped around it.

Cells by duty profile

Which models we point at each job

Taken from the live catalogue — capacity and continuous discharge as recorded against each model.

E-mobility & light EVs

High-discharge cylindrical cells for e-bikes, scooters, motorcycles and low-speed electric vehicles.

Drones, eVTOL & robotics

High-drain cells for drones, eVTOL aircraft and autonomous equipment.

Power tools & garden tools

High-discharge cells for cordless tools and professional equipment.

Energy storage & backup

High-capacity cells for home storage, portable power, UPS and backup systems.

Consumer devices & general purpose

18650, 18500, 22700 and prismatic cells for devices, instruments and general battery packs.

Before you specify

Three questions that settle most cell choices

What is the peak, and for how long?

Peak current and its duration decide the discharge grade. A two-second pulse and a two-minute pull are different design problems.

How fast must it charge?

If the pack has to be ready in an hour, maximum charge current matters more than the discharge rating.

What can the housing dissipate?

Every current rating carries a temperature cut-off. No thermal path means derating, whatever the data sheet headline says.

Describe the duty, not the part number

Load profile, envelope and target cycle life. We will come back with candidate cells and the documentation behind each one.
