Cells for drones and eVTOL
Airborne packs are the one application where energy density and discharge capability bind at the same time, and where the penalty for getting it wrong is not a warranty claim.
What the pack actually demands
Take-off and hover draw the highest current the pack will ever see, and the pack has to deliver it cold, hot, and at low state of charge. Discharge power at -10 °C and impedance growth over cycles are the figures that matter.
Which grade
Ultra-high-power 21700 cells, 45 A to 60 A class, with published power tables at multiple temperatures and states of charge.
What usually goes wrong
Sizing on capacity alone. A pack that holds the energy but sags below the bus voltage at the end of a hover profile is worse than a smaller pack that holds its voltage.
Candidates in the catalogue
Cells on file that meet this duty profile
Selected with the same thresholds used on each model page, so a cell listed here and a model page pointing back at this application always agree. Figures are as published; models without a manufacturer data sheet are marked pending.
