Sourcing and compliance notes

Where the numbers come from, and what to ask before you design against them.

Cell specifications only mean something if you know who published them. This section covers the sourcing side of the job: how a value gets marked as taken from a manufacturer data sheet or as pending verification, what to do when a manufacturer does not publish a downloadable data sheet at all, and how a reseller page can end up quoting a rating the manufacturer document does not support.

Posts here are written for people who have to defend a specification — to a customer, a certifier, or their own quality system. Where something changes what you can specify, we say which models are affected and what to ask for instead.
