The INR18650-30Q sits between the 25R and the 35E: 3,000 mAh with a 15 A continuous rating. That combination is why it shows up in builds with mixed duty — long enough runtime for a shift, enough current to cover acceleration, motor start or a turbo mode.

Why pack builders specify it

• 3,000 mAh at 15 A, the middle option between the 20 A/2,500 mAh 25R and the 8 A/3,500 mAh 35E
• Initial AC impedance at or below 26 mΩ, adequate for regulated loads up to the rating
• Standard charge 1.5 A with 4 A maximum for reasonable turnaround
• Heavily documented and widely stocked, so matched batches and replacement stock are easy to source

• E-bike and pedelec packs – 13S4P and similar builds where average draw per cell stays under 5 A with short peaks

Where it fits

Default to the 30Q when the duty profile is mixed and you do not want to choose between current and runtime. Move to the 25R for loads that live above 15 A per cell, and to the 35E when the pack rarely exceeds 8 A.

Charging and pack integration

Charge CC-CV to 4.2 V within the current limits listed above and stop discharge at 2.5 V. These are unprotected industrial cells: a BMS or protection circuit is required, interconnects must be resistance or laser welded rather than soldered, and cells of different model, batch or state of charge must not be mixed in one pack. Charging below 0 °C is not permitted unless the pack implements a low-temperature charge strategy.
