The P50B is Molicel's flagship 21700 and the cell the company markets under its own application headings: hyper EVs and racing sports cars, eVTOLs, two-wheeled motorcycle racing, heavy-lift drones and backup battery units. Molicel quotes 265 Wh/kg and 714 Wh/L, 60 A discharge, 5 C charging, and 1,400 cycles at 100 W discharge — roughly double the P45B.
Why pack builders specify it
- 60 A discharge rating with 12.8 mΩ impedance, so peak power arrives with less heat
- 5 C fast charge from a graphite anode engineered for the rate
- 1,400 cycles at 100 W discharge, about double the P45B in the same test
- Peak power of 413 W at 45 C and 238 W at -10 C on Molicel's 10-second tables

Where it fits
This is the cell for programmes where power density and recharge time are both hard requirements — aviation, motorsport, BBU. For energy-first packs discharging below 1 °C, a Samsung 50E or 53G costs less and stores the same or more energy.
Charging and pack integration
Charge CC-CV to 4.2 V within the current limits listed above and stop discharge at 2.5 V. These are unprotected industrial cells: a BMS or protection circuit is required, interconnects must be resistance or laser welded rather than soldered, and cells of different model, batch or state of charge must not be mixed in one pack. Charging below 0 °C is not permitted unless the pack implements a low-temperature charge strategy.
