The INR21700-50E is the energy cell in Samsung's 21700 range: 4,900 mAh minimum standard capacity with 9.8 A continuous discharge and 69.5 g per cell. It is the reference cell for packs that are sized by runtime rather than by peak current, and it remains the right answer for platforms already validated around it.

Stay with the 50E for validated designs, weight-sensitive builds and capacity-first packs. For a new mobility or robotics project started from scratch, evaluate the 50GB first — same capacity and current, stronger venting and can. Neither handles sustained loads above 9.8 A.

Charging and pack integration

Charge CC-CV to 4.2 V within the current limits listed above and stop discharge at 2.5 V. These are unprotected industrial cells: a BMS or protection circuit is required, interconnects must be resistance or laser welded rather than soldered, and cells of different model, batch or state of charge must not be mixed in one pack. Charging below 0 °C is not permitted unless the pack implements a low-temperature charge strategy.
